What to do to stop shocking my horse? and boarding question?

Try touching your hand to a conductive surface before touching the horse. A bar, a metal bucket handle. Static is promoted by dry conditions. Try misting down your glove with a spritz of water before you handle the horse. He will be okay. Just leave his nose alone for a little while till you have the static under control. Once you are sure you won't shock him, go ahead and handle his face. This is no big deal.
