Do Americans suck at football (soccer)?

I'm an American and just realized I have the soccer channel, and have been watching the English premeir league soccer. It's completely different from American soccer. American mls is boring to watch because no one ever scores and the goals that they do score are not exciting. Is it just Americans suck at football (soccer).
