Super heightened sense of smell - when does it go away?

I already had a sensitive nose going into pregnancy and let's just say, it has been excruciating at times, especially on those warm, melting snow days when evryone smells like wet mittens!!!!!! So, how long after birth does in go away? My poor husband has had to limit his onion consumption as the smell in bed at night even after brushing his teeth and using Scope makes me nauseous. I can tell what he ate at lunch as soon as he walks through the door! It's driving me crazy! Pleas say it will subside soon!!
