My 6mo olds cheeks are insanley dry...cure?

There so dry he scratches until he drawes blood...ive tried everything from mittens to petrolium jelly, chap stick, aveeno...the doc told me it would go away when he gets off the bottle....ummm ok so he suffers until then? I Think Not!! If u know any home remidies please share THANX BUNCHES!
